Why I am Doing This

My name is Bill, my daughter's friend 3 year old Malia Jusczyk has a very aggressive childhood cancer known as Stage IVĀ  Neuroblastoma. The cancer has metastasized into her bones and bone marrow. Immediately after the debilitating diagnosis, Malia's parents, Megan and Glen, left Orlando, Florida in order to provide their daughter with the best treatment currently available to her at the Children's Hospital/Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts.

To survive, Malia's little body now has to endure six rounds of chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, radiation, surgery, countless blood transfusions, etc. For families affected by neuroblastoma, the medical costs alone typically exceed $500,000. With many costs not covered by health insurance, this experience can devastate a family financially.

To raise money for Malia's treatment I have decided to lose 100lbs by my birthday December 2nd. For every pound I lose between now and then I am asking people to pledge 25 cents, 50 cents, a dollar, whatever you can afford. If you could care less how fat I am and just want to donate to help Malia, please click on the Donate button to the right.

I am trying to raise as much money as I can and I think that this is an interesting way to do it. So please help and tell your friends.
